Toast of the Week (3/23/10)

So, how did you spend your weekend? I spent mine stripping wallpaper (great tips from Twitterville), chainsawing old shrubbery and trees, climbing through storage units at the direction of my wife, and taking small breaks to enjoy the nice weather with a few sticks. The highlight? The value line Nica Libre. The lowlight? A dyed maduro from Di Fazio (messy!).

Last week we announced our winner of the box of Jameson Declarations and a pound of RockStone coffee; congratulations to David Jones! We also made an announcement about our April contests – here is a little more information about that. We’re giving away a humidor from our newest sponsor, Humidor Vault, a box of 262 Paradigm, manufactured by Alec Bradley, and a second box of cigars, which we’ll announce later. April will be a great month for contests! Be sure to follow the news here.

This week we’ve got some great toasts, so let’s get right to it!

  • Matt’s Cigar Journal is giving away some great cigars (Opus, Hemingway, Cain, Nub) as part of a charity bike ride, “Ride for Kids.” Help him fight Pediatric Brain Cancer and toast it here.
  • The Velvet Cigar takes on the Joya de Nicaragua Antano Dark Corojo. Find out about his “Oh Baby!” moment and toast it here.
  • Blue Note Cigars fires up the 5 Vegas Relic. We love the layout of his reviews. Toast it here.
  • Brooks over at The Smoking Stogie offers another “Review as it Burns” and offers up the Tatuaje La Maravilla, a limited production cigar. Toast it here.
  • The fellas at Nice Tight Ash set the Rocky Patel Gran Vida on fire, which is rolled exclusively for Emerson’s Cigars. This is a sharp looking stick. Toast it here.
