The Don Tomas Clasico is made under Estelo Padron and uses primarily Honduran tobacco. The reddish brown hue on the Clasico wrapper creates a very clean and elegant appearance – it also bears a well done double cap, minimal veins, and no soft spots. The aroma is of sweet cedar, caramel and even a mild espresso. The cold draw has a nice zest and a crisp lemon flavor.
Moving into the flavor of the burning cigar, the predominate notes are woody, with caramel and citrus undertones, and a very mild spice. Overall, the profile is a bit dry, the finish is short, and the smoke is fairly smooth. I was expecting a creamier profile but it never arrived.
The construction on the Clasico is solid with an even burn, a sturdy ash, and a slow burn. The construction proves to be the strongest feature on this sub $3 smoke. It is definitely worth the money and would be a great cigar to keep around for friends and in the yard.

A good everyday smoke, little complexity, you were spot-on with your construction comments; I can usually find the rothschilds for just over 2 bucks a stick when I order a box. I think that the Clasico line is an exceptional value, over-all.
I had one of these for the first time two months or so ago, and I really enjoyed it! I enjoyed the very notes that you found – carmel with touches of citrus “spice”.
