For my first review under the Toasted Foot banner, I chose the Quesada Q D’etat Molotov. Now here’s a little background on this 5×58 perfecto that, as the name implies, is shaped like a Molotov cocktail. Quesada chose the name Q D’etat for this Dominican Puro to unite all cigar smokers in an effort against the tyrannical and excessive taxation and restrictions that our all-knowing government has placed on our freedom to enjoy premium cigars.

Appearance: 1.8 out of a possible 2 points As I mentioned before, the Molotov is in the perfecto shape with a short pigtail that extends off the cap of the smoke, giving it that Molotov cocktail look. The dark brown wrapper has a great appearance while multiple veins are showing and the seams are visible.

Flavor: 2.6 out of a possible 3 points As far as flavor goes, I was surprised to find that the Molotov had a lot of flavor to it, which hasn’t been my experience with Quesada’s cigars. In the first third, the flavor was smooth and creamy with a strong spicy aftertaste that was akin to black pepper, but not overpowering. In the second third of the smoke, I found that it makes an odd transition to a fruity flavor, but with some of the same creaminess of the first third. The strong spicy aftertaste sticks around for our taste buds amusement and pleasure. In the final third, the fruit flavor maintains through the finish while the spiciness exits stage left half way through the final third.

Burn/Draw: 1.8 out of a possible 2 points Overall, I thought this was an excellent cigar. It has a great appearance, burns and draws great, has a very enjoyable flavor and I would definitely smoke it again.

Overall Smoking Experience: 2.5 out of a possible 3 points

Total: 8.7 out of a possible 10 points.

Thanks again, and until next time…Happy Smoking!
