Kuuts Cigars has been making cigars for some time now, but the vast majority of their business was done in Europe until recently. Made in Honduras at the Compañia Hondureña de Tabacos, the name Nicaraguan Blend is a bit of a misnomer. The cigar uses Nicaraguan tobacco, but it features a Ecuadorian wrapper and is made in Hoduras  Still, the Kuuts Nicaraguan Blend is a good mild-medium bodied cigar that is worth trying when you get the chance.

Pre-Light: A light graham cracker colored Ecuadorian Habano wrapper covers gives the Kuuts Nicaraguan Blend an appealing look to it. The gold and blue Kuuts band has an Incan god like character puffing a cigar on it.

The wrapper of the Kuuts has a leather and oak scent to it. Aromas of cinnamon, honey and sweet natural tobacco comes from the unlit foot of the cigar.

Burn: The burn on the Kuuts Nicaraguan Blend is mostly even and need no correcting. A smooth easy draw lets through a good deal of smoke.

Flavor: The Kuuts begins a bit slow, but it soon begins to give off a pleasing sweetness. Cinnamon, graham cracker and vanilla cake mix are the main components to the first third of the cigar. On the retrohale their is a mix of cinnamon, herbs and mild pepper. At the transition to the second third of the cigar there is a mixture of grass and oak that join cinnamon and graham cracker flavors. There’s a background note of French pressed coffee flavor that creeps into the existing flavors. During the transition to the final third of the Kuuts Nicaraguan Blend there is a significant change in the flavors coming from the cigar. A corn tortilla note begins to come out and mix with hay, herbs and a mild spice. In the final few inches of the Nicaraguan Blend there is a muddled quality that makes the flavors hard to distinguish.

Overall: The Kuuts Nicaraguan Blend is a suprisingly pleasing mild-medium bodied cigar with a good mix of flavors to it. There is a mix of cinnamon, graham cracker, herbs, spice, oak, grass and mild pepper to the Kuuts. Since it is milder than what most cigar enthusiasts expect from a Nicaraguan cigar, the Kuuts Nicaraguan Blend is a good first cigar of the day. Personally, I found the Kuuts Nicaraguan blend to be a fairly enjoyable cigar. I will definitely be revisiting the Kuuts sometime in the near future.

Pairing: The Kuuts Nicaraguan Blend pairs very well with a cup of coffee or cappacino. To experience all the flavors that the Kuuts has to offer I suggest pairing this cigar with a glass of sparkling water.
