Toasted Foot's Top Ten Cigars of 2017

Like last year, this Top Ten is wholly a solo endeavor on my part. These are simply my opinion of what are the best cigars that were reviewed on the site in 2016. Only cigars with published reviews on the site within the last year were eligible to make the list. As always, it’s important to rememberer that this list is entirely subjective, and is based on my own personal palate and preferences.

Monte by Montecristo AJ Fernandez
Cigar Review: Monte by Montecristo AJ Fernandez Toro

Many people hear the name Montecristo they think of mild Dominican cigars, but over the last several years Aldatis USA has been trying to change that with cigars like the Monte by Montecristo, Montecristo Espanda and Montecristo Pilotico. Teaming up with the AJ Fernandez on the Monte by Montecristo AJ Fernandez, has produced not only one of the strongest Montecristos, but one of the strongest Aladis cigars.

Southern Draw Jacob\
Cigar Review: Southern Draw Jacob's Ladder Toro

Southern Draw Cigars has been making some great cigars over the past few years, including the Kudzu and Rose of Sharon, but now this veteran owned boutique brand’s newest cigar may be its best. Featuring a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper from Lancaster County, the Southern Draw Jacobs Ladder pay tribute to owner Robert Holt’s son Jacob, while keeping with the flowering plants theme among the core line of cigars. This full bodied cigar is sure to be one of the company’s most sought after cigars.

My Father Cigars La Opulencia
Cigar Review: My Father La Opulencia

The Garcia Family’s My Father Cigars has been making great Nicaraguan cigars for over a decade now, earning some great press and ratings with cigar like the My Father Le Bijou, Don Pepin Garcia Original and Flor de las Antilles. The My Father La Opulencia, the newest release from My Father Cigars is the first new addition to the company’s namesake line in some time, but is a worthy extension of the company’s core line. Medium to medium-full bodied, the La Opulencia is a cigar that is flavorful, complex and well balanced. This is a cigar that is sure to please My Father fans in a big way.

Señor Esugars Cigar by Cornelius & Anthony
Cigar Review: Cornelius & Anthony Señor Esugars Toro

In their short time making cigars, Cornelius & Anthony has released some pretty impressive cigars, and received some great ratings here on the site. Their new Señor Esugars, named for owner Stephen Bailey’s pet Dachshund, comes from Erik Espinosa’s La Zona Factory in Estelî and is unlike any other cigar in the Cornelius line. With a mix of pepper and strength, the Señor Esugars is one of those cigars that will impress veteran cigar smokers, and has the hallmarks of a cigar that should age quite well.
