Espinosa Alpha Dawg
Cigar Review: Espinosa Alpha Dawg

Erik Espinosa has been making some great cigars for a while now, with his Larañja Reserva being the No. 2 on our Top Ten Cigars of 2014 list. Maybe all the success has gone to his head a bit because his latest cigar is called the Alpha Dawg, but as much as I like Erik and his cigars I don’t think I’ll ever be calling him “Alpha Dawg”.

1502 Blue Sapphire Toro by GPC
Cigar Review: 1502 Blue Sapphire

1502 Cigars from Global Premium Cigars is a company that declares itself “proudly Nicaraguan”, even its name is taken from the date that Christopher Columbus “discovered” what would become Nicaragua on his final voyage. Enrique Sanchez Icaza’s brand has been producing some very good cigar, whose quality has only gotten better with time. The latest release is the medium to medium-full bodied 1502 Sapphire that was announced at the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show in Vegas.

Finca Santa Fe by Cordoba & Morales
Cigar Review: Finca Santa Fe by Cordoba & Morales

Though they may not be well known, Cordoba & Morales has made some great cigars over the last few years. The Cordoba & Morales 19th Hole Maduro even earned a spot in our Top Ten Cigar of 2014. With their latest release, the Finca Santa Fe, brand owners Azarias and Emille Mustafa have gone above and beyond. The Finca Santa Fe is one of the most Cuban-like cigars on the market, while having a bit of added strength. This is a very impressive medium bodied cigar that will definitely surprise.

Southern Draw Code Duello Kudzu Perfecto
Cigar Review: Southern Draw Code Duello Kudzu Perfecto

Cigar smoking is a social event that gives us the chance to connect with others from all different walks of life. If your local cigar shop is anything like mine, on a daily basis we solve the world’s problems, and then we start all over again the next day. During these sessions we have a tendency to share cigars we like with each other.

Davidoff Yamasá Cigar Review
Cigar Review: Davidoff Yamasá Toro

Although it is not a region known for its tobacco, Davidoff has been growing cigar tobacco in the Yamasá region of the Dominican Republic for over 20 years, and have now decided to use the Yamasá leaf in the newest addition to the "black label" line. Master Blender Henke Kelner has put a lot of care into making this cigar turn out just right, doing everything from raising the pH of the soil in Davidoff's Yamasá fields to having climate controlled storage for the tobacco to be stored and dried.

Foundation Cigar Co. Tabernacle
Cigar Review: The Tabernacle by Foundation Cigar Co.

In Exodus, God commanded Moses to erect a Tabernacle in the dessert, situated due east and west, which was where in the Holy of Holies the Ark of the Covenant was to be kept. This is where Foundation Cigar Company’s new The Tabernacle takes its name from. Nick Melillo teamed up with AJ Fernandez’s factory to produce this excellent full bodied Connecticut Broadleaf cigar.
